Winter Woes

A Soofee grumbled as he scraped the ice from his windshield for the next of countless mornings in a row. He was sorely weary of winter, which even here in mid February showed little sign of ever abating. As his ice scraper finally succumbed and split in two, he let out a thunderous "God damn it!"

Just at that moment his teacher was passing, taking his dog, Halaj for a walk in the snowy park. Overhearing the Soofee’s epithet he said to the dog, "Why do you suppose he would ask God to do what he himself has already accomplished so well?"
